Boney Kapoor Reveals Sridevi ‘Did Some Unusual Roles And Things’; Filmmaker Opens Up About Late Wife’s Spiritual Belief
Boney Kapoor opened up about his late wife Sridevi and spoke about her spiritual beliefs which led him to be more religious as well
Bollywood filmmaker Boney Kapoor never shies away from talking about his late wife, legendary actress Sridevi, and the impact she created in his life. Having been together for more than two decades, he has opened up about his wife and reminisced about her. Through his multiple media interactions, he has also spoken up about lesser-known facts about the actress. Now, as he is busy promoting his upcoming film Maidaan, starring Ajay Devgn, Kapoor spoke about her spiritual beliefs which led him to be more religious as well.
In a recent interaction with Zoom, the 68-year-old producer-actor stated that Sridevi was more religious than him. He added that he started to believe in it more because of her. As he admitted that he started thinking more about spirituality because of his late wife, he revealed that she had a strong belief in her faith. While explaining one of her special personality traits, he pointed out that she had a love for doing things differently. Recalling the same, he expressed how she always broke stereotypes. The Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar actor recalled, “Sridevi did unusual roles and unusual things. She lit the fire on the pyre when her mother passed away.” Talking about it, he explained that in some cultures it is usually the men who light the funeral fire. It is to be noted that their elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor is also a spiritual believer. She is often spotted visiting Tirupati Balaji Temple along with her family and rumoured boyfriend Shikhar Pahariya. ALSO READ: THROWBACK! For the unversed, Boney Kapoor was earlier married to Mona Shourie Kapoor. He had two kids with her, a son Arjun Kapoor, and a daughter Anshula Kapoor. A few years after their separation, Boney tied the knot with Sridevi in 1996. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters Janhvi and Khushi, who are currently making a mark in the Hindi entertainment industry.
On the work front, he recently announced that No Entry 2 is in the making. The much-anticipated sequel of the Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan starrer will star Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh in lead roles. The trio will reportedly be seen romancing 10 heroines in the film.
